All applicants must:

  • Be in the final semester of a Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) accredited Doctor of Physical Therapy program, have successfully completed a CAPTE accredited professional physical therapy curriculum or have had their first professional physical therapy program approved by a state physical therapy board as “equivalent” to a U.S. CAPTE accredited professional physical therapy program.
  • Be eligible for physical therapy licensure in Connecticut
  • Applicants that have been previously licensed in Connecticut or other states may not have a license under suspension, revocation, probationary status or investigation for disciplinary proceedings or inquiry.
  • Be eligible to meet the requirements of full-time employment listed in Connecticut Children’s job description of physical therapy resident staff positions, which includes successful completion of a drug test, background check, occupational health screening, CPR certification (American Heart Association, Basic Life Support (BLS) for the healthcare provider)
  • Demonstrate appropriate knowledge for entry-level pediatric physical therapy practice
