Kimberly Ann AtkinsonA 20-year educator committed to balancing social-emotional and academic learning, Kimberly was honored with the 2019 District Teacher of the Year award for her innovative integration of SEL and academics in her kindergarten classroom as well as for conducting a district professional learning circuit on the same topic. She has been called upon as a district curriculum writer, participates in several academic committees on both the district and school level and volunteers as a grant writer for a local nonprofit organization in her community. In 2021-22, Kimberly volunteered with the State of Connecticut on committees for literacy and SEL grant scoring. When Kimberly is not working towards her ongoing mission to help others, she loves to read, camp, take nature walks and spend quality time with her husband, cat and family and friends. She credits all that she has accomplished to her faith in the Lord.
