Find your calling with a dual degree in athletic training

Passionate about sports and fitness? Consider a career in athletic training. Accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education and the first university in Connecticut to offer a master’s degree in this field, SHU is the ideal place to study athletic training.

Dual degree students are guaranteed admission to the Master of Science in Athletic Training program provided they continue, as undergraduate students, to meet program-specific criteria to progress into graduate program enrollment. There are two tracks to choose from:

Accelerated 3+2 Bachelor’s-Master of Science in Athletic Training

Students complete three years of undergraduate coursework and two years of graduate coursework. Open to students majoring in Exercise Science or Health Science.

4+2 Bachelor’s-Master of Science in Athletic Training

Students will complete the traditional four years of undergraduate coursework and two years of graduate coursework. This option is open to students in all undergraduate majors with the exception of nursing and interdisciplinary studies, however undergraduate majors in Exercise Science, Health Science and Biology will allow for the most efficient plan of study.
