GPA
- 3.0 cumulative GPA
- 3.0 prerequisite GPA preferred
Program Prerequisites
Complete all prerequisite courses below with a grade of “C” or better
- Anatomy & Physiology I with Lab
- Anatomy & Physiology II with Lab
- General Biology with Lab
- Physics with Lab
- Chemistry
- Kinesiology or Biomechanics
- Exercise Physiology
- Nutrition
- Statistics
- General Psychology
Admission Requirements for SHU Undergraduate Applicants & Affiliated Program Applicants:
- Online application
- Official transcripts from all institutions attended: Official transcripts from any previous institutions attended must be sent to Graduate Admissions (even if they have already been submitted to the University Registrar for transfer credit).
- Personal statement (1-2 pages) on why you are pursuing the field of athletic training
- Two letters of recommendation
- Documentation of a minimum of 10-15 hours of observation under direct supervision of a Certified Athletic Trainer.
- Athletic Training students are required to meet technical standards to successfully complete all program requirements. Review the technical standards document in your application portal. This acknowledges that you have reviewed and understand the technical standards of the athletic training profession.
- All students enrolling in the MSAT program must complete the Castle Branch requirements prior to beginning the program.
Admission Requirements for External Applicants:
- Submit your online application via ATCAS portal
- Official transcripts from all institutions attended
- Personal statement (1-2 pages) on why you are pursuing the field of athletic training
- Two letters of recommendation
