EDD 715 FOUNDATIONS OF ED IMPROVEMENT & INQUIRY 3.0 Credit(s)
This course introduces collaborative continuous improvement in education (CCIE) as a practitioner-centered approach to understanding and addressing persistent problems of practice. Students examine improvement science in conversation with other improvement and inquiry approaches, distinguish improvement work from traditional research and reform efforts, and develop foundational knowledge of systems thinking, problem framing, root-cause analysis, measurement, and iterative testing. An equity-centered orientation is woven throughout the course, with attention to positionality, deficit framing, inclusive practices, and the social processes that support equitable improvement.
