NU 345 EVIDENCE BASED PRACTICE FOR RNs   3.0 Credit(s)
This course is for RNs and prepares nursing students to critically evaluate evidence developed through methodologies such as research and research protocols for its application to the practice of professional nursing. The course reviews levels of evidence and provides a foundational overview of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies. Ethical issues and policy agendas that influence research are considered throughout the course. This is an eight-week course, with a separate module designed for each week. Learning will occur through: active engaged discussion with peers, completion of assignments, text and article readings, and review of PowerPoint slides, consistent and constructive feedback from instructors, and finally reflective and critical thinking processes of the student.
