This advanced course examines key masterpieces of world literature and analyzes their impact on human identity, history, and culture. It focuses on a critical study of fiction, non-fiction, film, poetry, and drama from diverse traditions, emphasizing how these works cross cultural boundaries, challenge literary standards, and connect with globalization. It also critically questions how, why, and by whom literature is elevated to the status of "masterpiece." The course explores themes of human identity, political conflict, international exchange, and the relationship between literature and social reality.
