Group Tours

Schedule a Group Tour

Bring your group of high school students to experience Sacred Heart in person.

SHU offers the opportunity for groups of a minimum of ten and a maximum of fifty students from schools or organizations of high school-aged only to schedule a group tour and offer group tour dates during each semester. Smaller groups (less than ten students) can register for one of our daily tours and information sessions.

Prepare for your visit

We encourage you to give your students background information on Sacred Heart so that they can ask questions during the tour. We want students to make the most of their visit.

Coordinate your chaperones

Sacred Heart requires one chaperone for every ten students on a group tour.

Arrange lunch if applicable

The campus tour will take approximately one hour and 15 minutes, and lunch can be coordinated to follow the tour.

If you would like to have lunch while you are on campus, more information on lunch options will be sent in your registration confirmation. You will be responsible for the cost of lunch. Reach out to our SHU Dining Services to coordinate lunch while on campus at 203-365-4760.

Plan for the weather

Tours are held rain or shine. The Office of Undergraduate Admissions is not able to provide rain gear or umbrellas for group tours.

Arrive ready for your tour

We ask that students are not on their cell phones during the tour. Pictures of the buildings are okay—and encouraged! However, we ask that students do not use apps like Snapchat, take pictures with anyone from Sacred Heart, or text during the tour. At the end of the tour, we are more than happy to take a group photo.

Be on time

Please be sure to arrive on time for your visit. Group tours are scheduled in addition to our busy daily visit program and regular campus tours and are staffed by volunteer student ambassadors who maintain a regular course load. If your group is running late, call our office at 203-257-8087. Extreme lateness may result in a change to your schedule, including information session or tour timing.

Conduct

We expect that all visiting students will be respectful to staff, faculty and students while visiting campus. The student ambassadors volunteer their time for these tours, and we want it to be a positive experience both for the students visiting and the ambassadors who are providing the tours.

Cancellations

If your group has to cancel for any reason, call Undergraduate Admissions at 203-257-8087 at least 48 hours prior to the day of the visit.
