Human Resources Office Assistant Work Study

Students are responsible for performing general office duties in a business-like manner with efficiency and confidentiality. Due to the confidentiality of tasks and physical nature of filing actual documents, work must be done in the Human Resources office in Melady Hall on 5151 Park Avenue campus. Flexible to student’s schedule. Normal operating hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Responsibilities and/or Job Requirements

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Excellent computer and Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Some administrative office experience preferred
  • Filing; Scanning as Needed
  • Creating, updating documents and spreadsheets
  • Creating files; inventory files
  • Organizing materials or information for major HR events

Expected Hours

4 hours per week; flexible to student's schedule. Normal operating hours are 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

SHU Fit Center Fitness Assistant

The SHU Fit Center is the employee fitness center at West Campus. Fitness center staff assist in the daily operations of the gym ensuring a clean and safe fitness environment. Staff members engage directly with individuals on the fitness floor by instructing and offering corrections for exercises. Based on level of experience, staff may provide individual instruction and lead small group sessions. Staff also maintains and cleans equipment and gym amenities in the locker rooms. The position may require early mornings and evenings. Applicants should have relevant work experience in a fitness based setting and working towards a degree in Exercise Science or plan on applying to graduate programs involving physical education, physical therapy or strength and conditioning.

Location

This position does not offer remote work.

Responsibilities

  • Active supervision of exercises offering corrections and modifications as needed
  • Welcome and greet fitness center members at check in
  • Assist in the development of fitness programs
  • Restock and organize fitness center amenities including towel service
  • Maintain and clean fitness equipment

Expected Hours

4-6 hours per week
