Martire Family Arena Game Ambassador/Ticket Scanner
Be the first contact for fans in the building (scanner) as you scan tickets and direct patrons to their location. As an usher, you are responsible to direct fans to their seats and ensure that people are sitting in their proper locations. Prevent patrons from moving through the seating areas during action to avoid injury as well as ensure that all fans have good sightlines.
Responsibilities
- Arrive no later than 30 minutes prior to doors opening
- Scan tickets, assist any patron without proper ticket credentials to secure them
- Be knowledgeable about the configuration of the rink, the various types of seating and other general information pertaining to MFA and SHU hockey games
- As an usher, you must be diligent in ensuring that people sit in their ticketed seat
- Be attentive to what is happening in your area, react to circumstances including fans sitting in the wrong seats, injuries from flying pucks, etc.
- Work with Public Safety and other security entities to ensure a safe, pleasant environment for fans in MFA
- You must be comfortable in enforcing the rules of the building

Martire Family Arena Hockey Ops Front Desk
Student workers will work on varsity game days with the ability and confidence to be on the ice in skates as needed. Candidates should be knowledgeable about the Men's and Women's Hockey programs as well as the Martire Family Arena. Must provide own skates.
Responsibilities
- Skate on game day by setting the nets and pins
- Skate on game day with the team flags prior to starting lineups and anthem
- Scrape ice during TV Timeouts
- Greet guests and direct them to the areas in the arena
- Be able to answer questions about the program(s) and arena or get the needed answers in a timely fashion
- Assist the coaching staff(s) with miscellaneous tasks when needed

Ice Rental Manager
Ice Rental Managers will be responsible to oversee the usage of the ice and locker rooms at Martire Family Arena during outside rentals. Rentals include games, practices or camps. The Managers will be responsible to ensure that the patrons are pleased and the building and its assets are maintained in proper form.
Responsibilities
- Provide great customer service working with the Rental Manager
- Be present during outside rentals, meet/greet groups and group leaders
- Monitor locker room usage and assignments
- Allow proper access to patrons and fans
- Ensure that players, coaches and spectators are following established protocols
- Clear the building and ensure that the building is locked down properly

Skate Rental Technician
This position will work at the Martire Family Arena in the rental skate area (located in lower level). The University has purchased rental skates that will be used for internal events as well as public events. The Skate Rental Technician will provide support in that area while providing good customer service to patrons.
Responsibilities
- Technicians will be taught how to sharpen rental skates
- Distribute rental skates to patrons
- Secure payment and/or collateral for use of the skates
- Receive skates after use, disinfect and return skates to their proper space(s)
- Reconcile sales and ensure that the skaters have left the building

Changeover Crew & Rink Crew
Physical work in up to 6 hour shifts. Must have the ability to skate and be able to lift at least 40 pounds. Scope of work is lifting 4 x 8 panels and placing them carefully to cover the floor, and then picking them a couple days later. Bending and lifting would be required for approximately 6 hours for each time.
Responsibilities
- Change over of the floor: putting down and picking up for specific events

Track & Field/Cross Country Team Practice Assistant
Practice assistants will attend weekday team practices between 3-6 p.m., and will assist the coaching staff in the administration of said practices. The position involves the setting up and breaking down of equipment during practices, and may also include assisting coaches with the timing of workouts, filming of workouts, and recording of workout data and statistics in a live setting. This is an in-person position. Remote work assignments will not be offered.

Team managers assist the coaching staff during practices and competitions in a dynamic environment. The position involves recording data and statistics in a live setting, and many other varied duties essential to team operations. Athletic Facilities is seeking event staff, game operations work study students. This position is perfect for students with an interest in sports, hospitality, and sport management majors. The event staff are expected to show punctuality, reliability, the ability to follow instructions, and pay attention to details. Students in this position will assist with game day management as well as the set-up and tear down of D1 Varsity athletic contests.

Student-Athlete Support Services Ambassador
We are looking for interested students to join our team and play an important role within the Student-Athlete Success Center. The student worker’s role will be to greet student-athletes and other visitors to the center and provide accurate information. The student worker will be involved in operational duties as it relates to recording study hall attendance, and assisting students in scheduling online/in person tutoring session through the university's online scheduling platform. The student worker will assist in the following areas: event planning; marketing and implementation of educational, community service, and personal health and wellness events, and workshops. Those in this position will assist and support the Student Athletic Support Services Office in working towards departmental goals, as well as with daily administrative tasks, which may include reports, filing, faxing, organizing, copying, etc.

Pitt Center Front Desk Attendant
The Pitt Center front desk attendant position is a customer service oriented role. The primary function of this position is to monitor and assist all visitors of the William Pitt Athletic Center. This position is responsible for actively greeting each SHU D1 varsity athlete, coach and athletic building staff as well as checking for proper identification. Duties also include assisting visitors to ensure the reason for their visit is met. This includes but not limited to directing them where to go, contacting SHU coaches or staff member upon their arrival and answering common questions about the building, campus etc.
A minimum requirement is to work two varsity athletic contests as game operations per semester to maintain eligibility as a Pitt Center front desk attendant.
