College of Nursing Graduate Assistant
Provide assistance to faculty and staff.
- Hours: Part-time (20 hours/week)

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Research & Academic Support
- Conduct library and database research using academic sources such as PubMed, Scopus, Google Scholar, and other relevant databases
- Assist faculty with research projects, including data collection, data entry, data organization, and data management
- Compile citations and format bibliographies according to required citation styles
- Organize research materials and data using tools such as SPSS, Excel, Qualtrics, PowerPoint, or other appropriate platforms
- Assist with recruiting participants, scheduling research activities, and coordinating meetings
- Support the preparation of research for oral and written dissemination, including manuscript formatting, presentation preparation, and related materials
- Assist with scientific writing, editing, and review as needed
- Support daily research activities while maintaining ethical research practices and confidentiality
- Help maintain research-related resources, communications, or social media presence, as appropriate
- Perform clerical and administrative tasks related to research and DHCON research support projects
- Perform other research-related support duties as assigned
Events & Programming Support
- Support supervisor in organizing meetings, student recognition events, public lectures, focus groups, trainings, center activities, and other special programs
- Support event logistics, including creating invitations, preparing event materials, coordinating schedules, and organizing project-related activities
- Support new and existing community partnerships connected to research or academic initiatives
- Provide on-site event support, including setup, registration, attendee assistance, and coordination during events
- Assist with post-event follow-up, including thank-you notes, evaluations, summaries, and related communications
- Support new and existing community partnerships connected to research or academic initiatives
- Perform other event, programming, or project support duties as assigned
Academic Support
- Assist with data collection and assessment activities related to program improvement
- Organize and maintain digital libraries of academic articles
- Summarize major findings from scholarly articles for presentations, reports, and grant proposals
Knowledge & Skills Needed
- Bachelors degree required (nursing bachelors preferred)
- Professional in all interactions is required
- Confidentiality must be maintained at all times due to sensitivity of work
- Accountability for completions of projects and meeting of timelines is required
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and academic software applications is required; willingness to learn additional software as required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Working knowledge of SHU library system
- Proficient in use of APA format
- Missed days must be approved by supervisor and time made up

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Academia
- Assist with academic programs implementation such as the DNP Colloquium, DNP role transition courses, DNP Final Project presentations
- Conduct library and database research using academic sources such as PubMed, Scopus, Google Scholar, and other relevant databases
- Assist with data collection, data entry, data organization, and data management
- Present findings of database research or data collection to chair and faculty
Events & Programming Support
- Support chair in organizing meetings, educational workshops, trainings, and other special programs
- Support event logistics, including creating invitations, preparing event materials, coordinating schedules, inviting speakers, and organizing project-related activities
- Support coordination of events, programming, outreach, or special initiatives such as MSN FNP or MSN PMHNP residencies
- Support new and existing community partnerships connected to clinical precepting or academic initiatives such as the Preceptorship Appreciation event
Management of Academic Programs
- Assist project leadership with data collection and assessment activities related to program improvement
- Conduct literature searches using academic databases (e.g., PubMed, Scopus, Google Scholar)
- Summarize major findings from scholarly articles for presentations, reports, and grant proposals
- Perform clerical and administrative tasks related to plan of studies and course analysis
Knowledge & Skills Needed
- Bachelors degree required (nursing bachelors preferred)

- Assist faculty with research projects, including data collection, data entry, data organization, and data management
- Compile citations and format bibliographies according to required citation styles
- Assist with organizing and scheduling lab practicums and make-up labs for sophomores
- Coordinate linked-in posts to highlight faculty and staff accomplishments
- Perform other research and faculty support related support duties as assigned
Events & Programming Support
- Support supervisor in organizing meetings, student recognition events, public lectures, focus groups, trainings, and other special programs
- Support event logistics, including creating invitations, preparing event materials, coordinating schedules, and organizing project-related activities
- Support coordination of community partnerships related to events, programming, outreach, or special initiatives
- Support new and existing community partnerships connected to research or academic initiatives
Global Programming
- Assist with coordinating, tracking, organizing supplies and donations for global trips
- Assist with planning pre-trip meetings
- Make recruitment flyers and assist with global recruitment event planning
- Assist with social media posts related to global programming
- Perform other global duties as assigned
Recruitment/Retention/Student Support
- Assist with tracking attendance at mandatory academic events, including developing reports on attendance for faculty follow-up
- Assist with organizing freshman/sophomore events such as pre-fall, bootcamps
- Assist with communication and outreach to students regarding events and activities
- Assist with recruitment events (open houses and SDA info sessions) and coordinate student volunteers
- Research best practices for student success
