Undergraduate Programs

Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity

The Bachelor of Science in cybersecurity program is designed to provide students the critical knowledge and skills required to keep the information and communication systems and their data safe, secure and resilient against modern-day attacks. Students aspiring to join the cyber workforce to protect our critical information, systems and infrastructure against cyber-attacks will find this cybersecurity program to be a rewarding and challenging experience. The program focuses on hands-on learning supported by traditional lecture-based teaching and provides students with ample opportunities to develop proficiency in subfields of cybersecurity, such as network defense, cyber operations and digital forensics.

Cybersecurity Minor

With cybersecurity as one of the most sought-after skills, a minor in cybersecurity is a great way to round out your education at SHU. A cybersecurity minor is designed for students from a variety of backgrounds such as engineering, game design, computer science or even business and finance. A cybersecurity minor begins with exploration courses along with foundational courses in computer science which includes courses on programming and data structures. It then exposes students to computer networks, cybersecurity principles, standards, laws and policies. The minor ends with a specialized course on network security. 

Graduate Programs

Master of Science in Cybersecurity

The master’s program in cybersecurity is designed to provide individuals with an in-depth knowledge of information and network security, risk and threat management, digital forensics and security architecture. It gives students the skills to effectively address the constantly changing threat landscape faced by people, companies and governments today.

Cybersecurity Graduate Certificate

The certificate program in cybersecurity provides individuals with necessary skills in networking, cybersecurity fundamentals, threat management and forensic computing.  Upon completion of the certificate program, the student will be better equipped to enter or continue as a professional in the risk management & information security field. Courses taken for the certificate can be applied toward the Master of Science in cybersecurity degree.
