Karen DaleyWelcome to the Dr. Susan L. Davis, R.N., & Richard J. Henley College of Nursing (DHCON). Our goal is to educate nurses and develop the whole person in a caring, compassionate environment, while maintaining the highest quality standards in our rigorous Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education-accredited programs. Our nursing board and certification pass rates are consistently higher than the national averages, setting our students up for successful employment upon graduation. Rooted in the Catholic intellectual tradition, we seek to not only educate you in your chosen role for the nursing profession but support your intellectual growth, inspire you to be curious and immerse you in experiences that build your understanding of your role as a Pioneer and as a global citizen.

Our faculty are experts in the field of nursing who are dedicated to assuring that engaged, motivated students have all the resources needed to be successful. We support our students, assigning each one a professional advisor and a faculty mentor. An operation and clinical placement team provides DHCON with high-quality clinical placements within the Yale New Haven Hospital system, Connecticut Children’s Hospital, Hartford Healthcare, Stamford Hospital and hospitals within the Nuvance Health system. We have many placements for public health in school systems and community health centers. For our online programs, we place students nationally.

Our curriculum utilizes innovative learning strategies supplemented with opportunities to learn and practice skills in our state-of-the-art labs. Our simulation facilities in the Center for Healthcare Education assure students can safely practice high-level clinical judgment scenarios, preparing them to care for any patients in the clinical setting.

Through our global health experiences, students can learn about the role of nursing internationally. Study abroad at our Dingle, Ireland, campus and with the University of Notre Dame in Australia are two of our many opportunities.

We are proud to have the largest BSN program in Connecticut. Our master’s and doctoral programs round out our offerings, allowing students to select pathways that meet their needs across their educational and professional journey. Acting as a catalyst and driver for world-class nursing education in the Northeast, the College is working to rebuild and fortify our nursing workforce in Connecticut. We hope you will join us!

We invite you to learn more about DHCON and our exciting programs. Campus visits can be arranged through undergraduate admissions online. For undergraduate admissions information, contact Pamela Pillo, and for graduate programs, contact Graduate Admissions.
