The faculty and students of the College of Health Professions are committed to creating and participating in educational experiences that are challenging, clinically relevant and community-based.
The college is also committed to providing opportunities for students and faculty to become engaged in their professional communities and through this participation, develop leadership skills that will impact the quality of educational and health care services on a global scale.
These activities include presenting at regional, national and international professional meetings, participating in international clinical and service opportunities, developing interdisciplinary scholarship and instruction, and expanding simulation and other technologies into our classes and labs.
Through your support, the faculty, students and alumni of our college will continue to live out our mission of contributing to a better world, learning through involvement and leading by example.
Please consider making a gift to the College of Health Professions to support these goals. I encourage you to check with your employer (or enter your employer's name in the matching gift programs database) to see if your gift qualifies for a match. These are a wonderful opportunity to have your contribution doubled or even tripled in some cases.
All contributions are tax deductible and donors will be acknowledged as members of the College’s Leadership Society.
Scholarship & Funding Opportunities
DPT Emergency Fund
Dr. Michelle Lusardi, Professor Emerita of the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program, established the DPT Emergency Fund for Doctor of Physical Therapy students. The fund provides emergency assistance to students who need help with emergency situations such as travel costs associated with clinical sites, family emergency travel, rent support and other unexpected burdensome costs.
Over the 13 years that she taught at SHU, Dr. Lusardi's experiences with students led her to recognize the need for such a fund. Her deep commitment to the DPT program and the success of its students led her to establish the fund upon her retirement.
We would like to invite all MSPT and DPT alumni and others in the physical therapy community to contribute to the growth of the fund so that it will sustain itself.
