National Student Speech Language Hearing Association
The National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA) is the national organization for graduate and undergraduate students interested in the study of normal and disordered human communication. NSSLHA is the only official national student association recognized by the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA). NSSLHA has approximately 13,000 members with chapters at more than 300 colleges & universities. NSSLHA membership at Sacred Heart University is available to any full-time graduate and undergraduate student interested in the study of communication disorders.

Connecticut Speech-Language-Hearing Association | CSHA
The Mission of the Connecticut Speech-Language-Hearing Association (CSHA) is to enhance the provision of quality services for people with communication disorders and their families by protecting and serving the professions of speech-language pathology and audiology in Connecticut through legislative and regulatory advocacy, opportunities for professional development, and public awareness. The Connecticut Speech-Language-Hearing Association is a non-profit professional association of speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and professional affiliates and associates dedicated to the provision of and improvement in clinical services to people with communicative handicaps. Membership for students is free, and all SHU students are encouraged to join.
SLP “GRO” (Speech- Language Pathology Graduate Organization)
The purpose of SLP GRO is to aid the graduate students in the Speech-Language Pathology program at Sacred Heart University. This organization will also promote professional and personal growth and development, excellence in Speech-Language Pathology, mentorship and community service.
This organization will provide support:
- To encourage student/community engagement and provide service opportunities.
- To encourage inclusiveness within the program and its students.
- To aid in student support and provide mentorship.
