Pioneer Achievement Toward Healthcare
CHP PATH is a resource hub for undergraduate and graduate students — in the College of Health Professions (CHP). Following the Seven Dimensions of Wellness as stepping stones to your success, this page connects you with campus resources and skills to enhance your learning experience.
The Seven Dimensions of Wellness provide a holistic approach to health, ensuring that individuals thrive in multiple aspects of their lives. For students entering the health professions, understanding and embodying these dimensions is crucial not only for personal well-being but also for providing comprehensive care to future patients.
We hope you often refer to this website. The CHP PATH creates a network of support for all CHP students, by promoting academic excellence and fostering the development of future leaders in health care.
Goal of CHP PATH
The goal of CHP PATH is to support all students in the College of Health Professions. Using the Seven Dimensions of Wellness as a framework, students will explore career opportunities in health care, learn academic strategies for success and understand the requirements for pursuing a graduate program within the college.
By incorporating the Seven Dimensions of Wellness into their lives, students in the health professions maintain balance, resilience and a holistic perspective, which are essential for their personal and professional development. By embracing these dimensions, students can become well-rounded health care providers who promote comprehensive wellness for themselves and their future patients.
CHP Academic Advisers
First-year undergraduate students work with designated professional advisers throughout their initial year at SHU. The professional advisers support first-year students in meeting the criteria to progress in their major, learn academic success strategies and connect to resources on campus.
Graduate students work with their faculty and a professional graduate student adviser throughout their educational career at SHU. The professional adviser provides support as students transition from undergraduate to graduate studies, explore career opportunities and develop professional skills.
Steppingstones to Wellness
Your path to success in the College of Health Professions includes more than just passing your classes. We encourage students to embrace a holistic approach to wellness. We value the Seven Dimensions of Wellness as a comprehensive guide to achieve this goal.
The Steppingstones to Wellness include resources for intellectual, social, occupational, spiritual, emotional, physical and environmental wellness. Explore each section to find campus resources and strategies for your success.
CHP Passport for Success
The CHP Passport for Success program provides support to first-year students facing academic obstacles. Guided activities include understanding study skills, using time management strategies and exploring career opportunities. Students will use campus resources and participate in one-on-one advisement to support their academic growth.
