
Educational & Literacy Leadership
The Department of Educational & Literacy Leadership prepares its students to serve in leadership roles in PreK-12 education. The department emphasizes the practical application of theory, using principles of effective adult learning in all courses. Graduates take on roles at the school or district level, such as teacher leader, literacy coach, language arts consultant, assistant principal, principal, supervisor of pupil personnel services, assistant superintendent and superintendent of schools. Advanced degrees include a sixth-year certificate of advanced study (CAS) and doctor of education in educational leadership.
