Annual Welch Cup Classic Golf Tournament
Each Spring, we host a free networking golf tournament called the Welch Cup Classic. Each foursome is made up of one student, one alumni, one faculty member, and one employer. It is a 9-hole Scramble, and it is followed by a Barbecue lunch and award ceremony.

Golf Lessons
Golf Lessons are open to students in the Welch College of Business & Technology, SHU alumni and corporate partners. Lessons will be held at the Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course on Park Avenue in Fairfield, both fall and spring semesters. No sign up is required. Go directly to the driving range at the Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course and arrive 15 minutes early to meet a Club Professional.
Golf Lessons take place every Thursday in September and April at 4:30 p.m.
Student Memberships
All Welch College of Business & Technology students receive discounted golf all year round. For just $25, all students in the Welch College of Business & Technology can become members at Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course, and golf for the member rates all year.
Important Information
- Always bring your SHU card
- For lessons and the tournament, golf clubs will be provided free of charge
- All WCBT students will get the resident rate for on-course play
