Transfer Credit Policies
Undergraduate
Sacred Heart University accepts undergraduate transfer credits for courses carrying a grade of C or higher from a regionally accredited college or university. Sacred Heart University will accept a maximum of 66 credits from a two-year college and 90 credits from 4-year institutions may be transferred. A total of 90 credits may be transferred. The University reserves the right to examine selected courses to determine whether or not their content and quality fit the Universities purpose and goals.

- Tunxis Community College
Graduate
The maximum number of transfer credits accepted varies by program. The acceptance of transfer credits for a graduate program is determined on a course-by-course basis by the graduate program director, who reviews the student’s transcript and the syllabi of the course(s) being considered for transfer.
Courses must meet the following criteria to be eligible for transfer:
- Graduate-Level Courses
Only credits from graduate-level courses will be considered for transfer. - Minimum Grade Requirement
The course grade earned must meet or exceed the minimum grade required by the specific program. - Accredited Institutions
Credits must be earned from a regionally or nationally accredited institution. - Grading Criteria
Courses graded as Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory or Pass/Fail are not eligible for transfer. - GPA Calculation
Only credits earned at Sacred Heart University are included in the GPA calculation.
