Dr. Kristin N. Rainville teaches courses in curriculum and pedagogy, literacy and instructional leadership.

Kristin’s research and scholarship focuses on teaching, leadership, and literacy. Kristin is the co-author of three books: Faculty Peer Coaching in Higher Education: Partnerships to Support Improved Instructional Practices (Information Age Publishing, 2023), Literacy Leadership in Changing Schools: Ten Keys to Successful Professional Development (Teachers College Press, 2015), and Changing Suburbs, Changing Students (Corwin, 2012) and several book chapters. Kristin has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as: The Reading Teacher, Reading & Writing Quarterly, Young Children, Educational Leadership, American Journal of Health Education, and School-University Partnerships amongst others. Kristin serves as the lead editor for the Teaching and Learning in Higher Education book series with Information Age Publishing, where she is the lead editor of several books.

Prior to joining the faculty at Sacred Heart University, Kristin was the Department Chair and a tenured Assistant Professor in the Department of Literacy at Manhattanville College. Kristin also previously worked as an Instructor at Teachers College, Columbia University. Before moving into higher education, Kristin served as Coordinator for the New Jersey Department of Education’s Office of Early Literacy and has experience as a literacy coach in New Jersey and as a third grade and first grade teacher in Stamford, Connecticut.
