Mrs. Jackson began her relationship with Sacred Heart University many years ago as a student majoring in Psychology with a concentration in Elementary Education. She graduated from SHU, went on to get a Master's Degree in Special Education at Fairfield University, and returned to SHU for her Sixth-Year Professional Certificate in Administration. In 2002, Mrs. Jackson began a new relationship with SHU as an Adjunct Professor within the Graduate Education Department. She has continued in that role teaching many different courses and has joined the university in a part time role as the Teacher Residency Clinical Coach & Coordinator.
Mrs. Jackson has had a variety of experiences in her professional life as an educator. She was a Regular Education Teacher in Stamford, a Special Education Teacher, Special Education Interim Director/Coordinator, and an Assistant Principal for Weston Public Schools, and recently retired from Fairfield Public Schools in 2023 after serving in the role as an Elementary Principal for 22 years. Last year, Mrs. Jackson expanded her adjunct work at SHU by teaching undergraduate courses and supervising student teachers.

Her oldest daughter is an elementary teacher and her son is a high school social studies/special education teacher and administrator. They both received their Master's of Education degrees from SHU.
