Andy Schwartz

Andy Schwartz has more than 26 years of professional brewing experience and is currently Head Brewer at WeHa Brewing & Roasting in West Hartford. Prior to joining WeHa he founded and built two Connecticut breweries, Dockside Brewery in Milford and Stony Creek Brewery in Branford. He served as brewmaster for both operations designing their breweries, formulating all recipes and creating all branding and packaging. Before Connecticut, Andy spent 7 years in New Hampshire at Craft Brew Alliance (makers of Redhook, Widmer Brothers, Kona Brewing and Omission Beer) finishing up as Senior Innovation Brewer. Before that he honed his chops in Southern California spending 8 years with Oggi’s Pizza and Brewing Company/Left Coast Brewing Company as Corporate Brewmaster. He started his career in Colorado washing kegs and working the bottling line at Boulder Beer (then Rockies Brewing Company) as well as spending time as head brewer at Overland Stage Stop Brewery in Longmont, CO.
Andy has an extensive brewing education. He attended the Siebel Institute in Chicago taking the following courses; Short Course in Brewing Technology, Hands on Brewing Course, Master of Beer Styles, and Beer & Food Pairing. He is also a Certified Cicerone® (level 2). Finally, he holds a BA in Psychology from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.
Andy Lives in Branford, CT with his wife and two sons.
