The Edward & Jacqueline Musante Endowed Lecture was established in 2021 by Ed’s and Jackie’s children, with generous additional donations from family members and friends, to honor their parents’ memory.

Jackie & Edward MusanteJackie and Ed raised seven children in a loving household, and for years operated a market that was a fixture in the Milford community. A family of strong faith, Jackie was a trailblazer and role model for women serving the Catholic Church. She created and held numerous leadership roles and was awarded by Pope John Paul II the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice cross, which is the highest honor bestowed on lay people in the Catholic Church.

The creation of this endowment fulfills Jackie’s final intentions of her legacy being sustained through an annual lecture hosted by the Center for Catholic Studies at Sacred Heart University, which features renowned forward-minded speakers addressing topics Jackie found critical to the evolution of the Catholic Church and Christianity. Speakers will reflect expertise in one of the following areas:

  • Forward-minded thinking on women in the Church;
  • Thought leadership for the Catholic perspective on the environment, or;
  • Social justice in the workplace
