Michael J. Passariello Scholarship

The Michael J. Passariello Endowed Scholarship was established by Mrs. Ann Passariello in memory of her son, Michael, a deceased member of Sacred Heart University's alumni. This scholarship is awarded to students demonstrating past performance showing that they are capable of succeeding at the University. Preference is given to parishioners of Holy Infant Church in Orange, CT, or residents of the town of Orange, CT.

"I am so grateful to be attending Sacred Heart University. It is the perfect fit for me in both academics and athletics. I love being a member of the SHU community because each and every person I have met at SHU is willing to help me take the right steps towards a successful future. They are so welcoming and bring such a positive atmosphere to campus.

My career goal is to become a pediatric physical therapist. My major is exercise science and I am pre-accepted into the Physical Therapy Doctorate Program. Through SHU’s incredible faculty and beautiful learning environment, I have been continually challenged and encouraged to follow my passion and reassured of my career path.

I am part of the Sacred Heart Figure Skating Team. I have grown so close with the members of this team, and being able to pursue the sport that I love with girls that share the same admiration for figure skating as I do is an unbelievable experience. Becoming president of this team has motivated me to continue to strengthen our bonds and welcome new members with open arms. I am also on the board of the Pre-Physical Therapy Club as the retention chair, and am a member of the Exercise Science Club. Through these organizations, our goal is to mentor other students, guide members to success and provide as much information about these majors as possible. These clubs help members feel that they have a person to turn to with similar interests and allow students to take steps in the right direction to be successful in these programs at SHU.

The Michael J. Passariello Scholarship is an incredible gift! Thank you so much for your very generous contribution towards my education. I can't begin to tell you how grateful and honored I am to be the recipient of this thoughtful endowment. My career path requires many years of schooling and your scholarship will truly help me to be able to continue to follow my dreams at SHU."
