Lauren Foster Petisce Memorial Endowed Scholarship for Physical Therapy
The Lauren Foster Petisce Memorial Endowed Scholarship for Physical Therapy was established in 2020 by her family to honor Lauren’s enduring impact on the Sacred Heart community. Lauren arrived at Sacred Heart in the fall of 2004 as an accomplished student-athlete from Newington, CT. It didn’t take long for classmates, teammates, faculty, staff and coaches to come to know how special she was. Lauren was caring, courageous, hard-working and competitive. She was the positive and dependable rock that lifted up all those around her. Lauren would become captain of the women's golf team and earn an undergraduate degree in exercise science. Lauren continued her studies at Sacred Heart graduating from the rigorous doctor of physical therapy program (DPT). Lauren became an exceptional clinician, working as a senior physical therapist in hospital settings in New York City, New Haven and Philadelphia, and always selflessly giving her time and expertise to mentor the next cohort of Sacred Heart DPT students.
Scholarship Criteria
To be eligible for the Lauren Foster Petisce Memorial Endowed Scholarship for Physical Therapy, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Incoming female graduate student enrolled full-time in the DPT Program
- Demonstrated high academic achievement and financial need.
- Priority consideration will be given to candidates who completed their undergraduate education at Sacred Heart University in a 3+3 or 4+3 track and have been a member of a NCAA Division I sports team
