Dr. Thomas G. Pepe Scholarship
The Dr. Thomas J. Pepe Scholarship honors the memory of Thomas Pepe, deceased former Chair of the Department of Education. This is a merit based program conducted through the Department of Education.

"I am proud to be affiliated with such a prestigious university. Sacred Heart candidates have a wonderful reputation across the state of Connecticut. I have enjoyed the relationships I have built with students, staff and alumni. My professional goals are to serve my school community to the maximum level. The sixth-year program in educational leadership has allowed me to better support the educational leaders, students and staff in my building. Although I attend classes on the Griswold campus, I appreciate having full access to the Park Avenue campus in Fairfield as a Sacred Heart student. I love the library and have found the librarians tremendously helpful. I was a ZTA during my undergraduate years and appreciate knowing that SHU has a ZTA chapter. I like that the school has student-led publications and wellness initiatives like yoga. I like that I am invited to attend all of the activities that occur on the Park Avenue campus.
I am immensely thankful to have received this scholarship. It means so much that my passion project in education (teaching financial literacy) was awarded this honor. In addition to helping me financially, which I greatly appreciate, receiving this scholarship provided me with a huge boost of confidence. Knowing I received this prestigious award has helped me believe I can take this passion project further. Since receiving this scholarship, my principal and I have had several discussions about incorporating a financial literacy program into our academic course offerings at the middle school level."
