"I admire SHU’s inclusivity towards other religious communities, as demonstrated with public solidarity in the face of terrible current events around the world. I love seeing outreach events organized and carried out by students. I have enjoyed walking around campus and meeting students from other disciplines.
My goal is to be the best physical therapist I can be, and I hope to be knowledgeable, kind and effective in all my interactions with people. SHU’s program has molded my professional character the entire way – and for that I am supremely grateful. I absolutely loved the study abroad trip to Guatemala with my fellow PT students and professors. As a student who has not received financial support from her parents, the financial aspect of this scholarship makes me feel immense gratitude. However, it is the criteria behind the endowment – “seeking PTs who want to work with people who have been affected by cancer” – that is the reason I want to hug the donor. My mother is my world, and cancer tried to take her away from me. This disease is so much more than how it affects you physically. I know I will be a supportive champion to those affected by cancer. Thank you for your gift; it will keep on giving for many years to come.”
