"Whether you are walking down the 63's hallway or going to the library, you will almost always pass by someone you know who smiles and waves to you. Everyone at SHU is so friendly and helpful. Sacred Heart is such a supportive family environment and I am grateful to be a SHU student. My professional goal is to be a nurse in either the maternity department or the labor and delivery department. Through the nursing department at SHU, I am going to be taking classes and going into clinical that will help me to gain experience in these fields. I studied abroad in Dingle, Ireland and am so honored to have the opportunity to immerse myself into the Irish culture, work with Irish nurses and learn through their teaching, and explore Ireland while still taking classes.

Thank you so much for your generous scholarship. During high school, I taught religious education to elementary school students and went to my church's senior youth group to grow in my faith and learn more about God. I grew up attending St. Rose of Lima Church in Newtown, CT, so I have been a member of the Diocese of Bridgeport my entire life. My faith is a central part of my life and I am so incredibly grateful for this scholarship that helps me go to Sacred Heart. Thank you from the bottom of my heart."
