"I love that I have been able to find a place where I can grow and learn who I am as a person. I have found so many different homes at this school through my majors as well as through the clubs and organizations I have joined, and it makes it hard to think about leaving at the end of the semester.

My goal is to be a partner at one of the Big 4 accounting firms and to pass the CPA exam. So far, I am on the right track, as I have held an accounting internship with one of the Big 4. Being a part of my Greek life organization has given me more than I ever expected. I have become such a different and better version of myself since joining.

I would tell the donor of this scholarship that I was incredibly thankful for the opportunity to focus less on the financial aspect of college. This scholarship allows me to put all my energy into my academics."

Major: Management and Marketing; minor in HR Management and Honors

"I love how everyone at Sacred Heart is willing to help others. Whether it be helping someone in a class, holding the door for others or introducing someone to people and connections that will help them in their future, Sacred Heart students and faculty are always there to support you. Sacred Heart has so many possibilities for students to get involved in the community, and offers opportunities to learn and grow outside the classroom.

My career goal is to one day become a VP of human resources. After taking some HR and management classes, I learned I really had a passion for HR. Being able to bring the knowledge I gained in the classroom to my internship positions has given me an advantage over others and I am so appreciative.

I love being a pre-fall leader for the Welch College of Business & Technology, as well as a Welch Mentor. I have always enjoyed mentoring others and having the opportunity to share my knowledge and experience with incoming freshmen has been a very rewarding experience. Also, I love being a member of my sorority Chi Omega because there are endless opportunities to volunteer and raise money for the Make-a-Wish Foundation.

Thank you so very much for your generosity and creating the Arianna S. Petillo Scholarship at Sacred Heart University. Attending Sacred Heart has been a wonderful experience for me with memories I will cherish forever. This scholarship has helped me and my family, so thank you again so much!"

Major: Marketing and Economics

"What I love most about SHU is the friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Being part of a small university allows you to make more intimate connections with the people around you, and everyone is willing to make those connections. I have truly been able to find a second home here and make connections that will last a lifetime.

When I graduate, I'd like to be doing market research and analysis within a public health organization. The Jack Welch College of Business & Technology has allowed me to double major to work towards my goal. My marketing major is teaching me about both consumer behavior and market research. It's very interesting and beneficial to learn both the psychology and statistical side of marketing. My economics major is crucial to learn not only how the economy functions but also the statistics that go along with it.

Outside of the classroom, I am a member of the Student Wellness Education and Empowerment Team (S.W.E.E.T.) We are the student branch of the Wellness Center and we help promote wellness on campus. I enjoy creating the Stall Street Journals, wellness newsletters that are hung up all over campus in the bathrooms. I am also in the choral program. I am in the chamber choir 4Heart Harmony and Gospel Choir. I've had great experiences with the program, some of which include singing at Radio City Music Hall and going to sing in Italy over spring break. Lastly, I am the vice president of the Marketing Department in the WCBT Corporate Structure. I am enjoying getting real-world experience leading a team and running a social media account.

Thank you for this generous scholarship that is allowing me to continue my education here at Sacred Heart University. I come from a large Italian family and my parents and I appreciate the opportunity. I could not thank you enough."

Hometown: Staten Island, NY
Major: Accounting & Management

"As well as being an accounting major, I am also a management major with an entrepreneurship minor. I believe that the education I am receiving from my management courses and entrepreneurship courses will guide me to become a successful entrepreneur and small business owner one day. I recently finished my internship and received a full-time offer for the fall of 2019. I am involved in the accounting and finance and economics clubs. These two clubs have helped me learn about current events, more about my field by having companies come in and discuss internship opportunities they are offering, and gave me the opportunity to network with students that have the same interests as myself. Thank you for awarding me with the Arianna Petillo Endowed Scholarship. I am honored to be a recipient of a new, prestigious and personal award. I can't inform you enough of how appreciative I am to be selected to receive it. This award has given me the confidence to continue working hard and achieving all the goals I set for myself."

"I am a recent transfer; being at SHU has given me access to new perspectives across disciplines. My professional goal is to develop a career in advertising. My major, marketing, is essential to the foundations of my future career. I love the opportunity to learn from great minds working in the industries that operate right in SHU's backyard. SHU's proximity to hubs like Stamford and NYC attract a lot of talent with relevant, real-world knowledge on the material being taught in classes. Thank you so much for your generous contribution so that I can get the best education possible."
