Jack Welch College of Business & Technology
At the Jack Welch College of Business & Technology, we harness the power of “and.” It’s right in our name: business and technology. Entrepreneurial-minded students learn from faculty whose expertise crosses and combines disciplines: accounting and cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and data analysis, virtual reality and human resources.
The Welch College provides an integrated business and technology education that is innovative, student-centered and built on the foundation of learning through experience. Students hone their skills in state-of-the-art facilities, labs and studios on SHU’s West Campus, the former global headquarters for General Electric. These include an 11,000-square-foot IDEA Lab makerspace for digital fabrication and 3D printing as well as specialized labs for artificial intelligence, financial modeling, cybersecurity, and virtual and augmented reality. The Conference Center at the Jack Welch College of Business & Technology features coworking and meeting spaces, allowing students to develop deep connections to regional companies and business leaders.
An additional point of distinction is that the Welch College delivers this cutting-edge business and technology education in a community founded in the Catholic Intellectual Tradition. Students gain an understanding of ethical decision-making and service to others alongside innovative applied learning. Our graduates are steeped in the Pioneer Spirit, ready to compete in fast-growing fields and prepared to succeed in a rapidly evolving economic environment.

Preparing for Tomorrow's Opportunities
With your investment through Now We Lead, the Welch College of Business & Technology will:
Increase scholarship funding
The business world is constantly evolving. Only those professionals who can keep pace with and recognize developing trends are likely to emerge as influential and successful business leaders. This is precisely who we prepare at Welch College. To attract the most talented and diverse students to our competitive undergraduate and graduate programs, we must increase our endowment for scholarships.
Create endowed faculty positions
Our faculty members stand out for the way they merge business and technology disciplines with innovative applied research. To attract and retain top practitioners, we need to establish endowed chairs and professorships. The additional support and recognition accompanying these positions will give the Welch College an edge in an extraordinarily competitive recruiting environment.
Enhance experiential learning
The Welch education emphasizes learning through doing. Gifts to the campaign can strengthen that approach, providing stipends for co-ops, creating new project-based learning opportunities and funding in-demand credentialing and badging programs.
Invest in the latest technology
Welch College students prepare for next-generation careers in smart classrooms and labs focused on innovative domains such as cybersecurity, game design and augmented reality. Campaign support will allow us to stay on the leading edge of technology and incorporate the latest high-tech tools.
Naming opportunities
A campaign offers the opportunity to name spaces throughout Welch College—everything from classrooms to labs and from office suites to conference rooms. Naming any of these assets provides valuable exposure for companies while strengthening the Welch Experience.
