Posting Policy
This policy serves for the posting of printed materials on Sacred Heart University campuses. It is subject to change without notice, but will be maintained on the Student Union website.
Flyers/Posters
Stamped
All flyers and posters must be approved and stamped by the Student Union Office. University personnel will remove any flyer or poster not properly stamped.
Time
Flyers and posters may not be posted more than two weeks prior to an event. Poster/flyers may only be posted for a maximum of 14 days. Flyers and posters must be removed within 24 hours after the event, activity or meeting that they advertise. University personnel will remove any flyer or poster that is outdated or precedes the two weeks prior rule.
Size
Flyers and posters for general posting must be no larger than 8.5" wide x 11" tall.
Locations
Flyers and posters may only be posted at approved bulletin board locations. These locations include:
- HC/SC/UC wings of the Academic Building
- West Campus (Elevators to be added)
- Linda E. McMahon Commons third floor
Materials may not be posted over other flyers or on permanently assigned bulletin boards. Posting is limited to bulletin boards only and only one flyer per board.
At no time may flyers or posters be hung on glass or painted/stained surfaces in any SHU Building. University personnel will remove flyers or posters posted improperly.
To have your posting displayed at the Martire Center for the Liberal Arts and the Center for Healthcare Education, request digital signage on the campus monitors. You can also include other digital signage locations in this request.
Vehicles
Posting on vehicles is not permitted.
Residence Halls
This is subject to the approval of the residence hall director where the posting will take place.
Enforcement
University personnel will remove any materials not stamped or registered. Sponsoring groups may be charged for any removal costs or damages. The University will not be responsible for damage to materials removed.
Materials
University personnel will not be responsible for saving or collecting improperly posted materials.
Exceptions
Requests for exceptions to this posting policy will be considered by the Student Union Office for a special event or University-wide event or an event deemed University-wide by the Student Union Office and Marketing & Communications. Requests for exceptions must be submitted to the Student Union Office two (2) weeks prior to the first day of the requested posting.
