Important Update: New Meal Plans Launching Fall 2025

Sacred Heart University is excited to announce enhancements to student dining plans beginning in the Fall 2025 semester. These changes are part of our continued commitment to improving campus life by offering more value, flexibility, and convenience—while also addressing food insecurity and supporting student well-being.

What’s new?

Effective this Fall, all freshmen and sophomore residential students will be assigned the Big Red Unlimited Plan. This plan will allow you to enjoy an all-you-care-to-eat experience for up to 15 times a day to both Thea’s Abbey and 63’s dining halls. Whether you're looking for a full meal, a healthy snack, or just a quick coffee between classes, unlimited access means you’ll never have to think twice about when—or how often—you eat..

In addition to the unlimited dining hall access, students will also receive two daily meal exchanges at any of our retail dining locations, offering even more variety and flexibility across campus. Every plan will now include $325 in Dining Dollars, which can be used at all campus dining spots for even more convenience and choice. Our goal with these updates is to improve the overall meal plan and dining experience to be more inclusive and student-centered that ensures everyone has access to fresh, nutritious options at any time of day.

Are you a commuter or upperclassmen? Don’t worry we have you covered! Check out all the new plans on the SHU Dining website.

We look forward to welcoming you to a new era of dining at SHU this fall! Please contact: Mark Tammone, Resident District Manager, with any questions.

Thank you,
Denise Tiberio, Ed.D. (she/her)
Dean of Students
Sacred Heart University
