Check Out & Damage Billing Information
All residential students must check out with a member of the Residential Life staff once they have vacated the residence halls for any reason. Damage billing is a collaboration between Facilities & Construction and Residential Life, and is submitted to Student Accounts for billing. Facilities & Construction and/or an outside company have determined the cost of the repair, including both labor and parts/materials. Just because something was not noted at check out does not mean a room will not receive a damage bill.
If you accept the charges, do not send a check to Residential Life. All payments should be directed to Student Accounts.
If you wish to appeal the charges, please follow the instructions included in your damage charge email regarding the appeal process.
Appeals must be done by each individual charged in order to be granted. Rooms cannot send one appeal for each individual in the room/suite/apartment.
Appeals will be reviewed by Residential Life and decisions regarding the appeals will be sent out after the appeal deadline.
