Mail Services

Mail Services is the centralized receiving and dispatching location on campus for all US and interoffice mail.

Services or materials offered by the Mail Center include but are not limited to:

• consulting with departments in designing mail pieces
• reduce postage costs and processing time between receiving and delivery
• once-a-day pick-up and delivery of mail for University departments and resident students
• processing all incoming and outgoing mail for the University
• coordinating bulk mailing (third class) with departments to meet their mailing needs
• maintaining an incoming parcel tracking system
• metering of outgoing mail
• delivery of parcels and shipping supplies throughout the campus

After Hours Package Deliveries

With the increasing popularity of Amazon and other contracted deliveries that arrive on campus, we have installed what is called a Box-Gobbler in the door at the Park Avenue campus SHUPAD. This Box-Gobbler is like a night deposit box or similar to those who drop off keys to their auto mechanic the night before a scheduled appointment (except the opening is much larger to accommodate boxes).

Drivers are directed through signs to bring after hours deliveries to the Box-Gobbler. They enter a code, the drawer opens, and the parcel(s) are deposited onto the floor of the SHUPAD. The driver closes the drawer and it's ready for the next parcel deposit. These parcels are now safe in the SHUPAD. They will be scanned into our tracking system the next business day. Packages may not be retrieved until the next business day.

It needs to be made very clear that the door is monitored inside and outside with a security system that is recording the activity. Within the facility are motion detectors and other security devices aimed to protect the property. As mentioned, once it goes inside the Box-Gobbler, it is safe until the next business day.
