These highlights represent the state and development of the OIE as of the beginning of the 2022-23 academic year. As things continue to develop, expand and improve, OIE will update this area and widely communicate to the University, as appropriate.
Future Plans
Under the leadership of the Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer and in consultation with the Inclusive Excellence Advisory Council, the OIE will develop the Pioneer Plan for Inclusive Excellence. This University-wide DEIB strategic plan will be the institution’s roadmap toward achieving Inclusive Excellence. The plan will build in accountability and key performance indicators to assist with its successful implementation and operation. More information about the planning process will be communicated to the SHU community.
The Bias Education Support Team (BEST) is being reimagined and will be reconvened to effectively support our community. BEST updates will be communicated as soon as they become available. In the interim, if you experience demonstrations of bias, please report them through Incident Reporting Form to engage with a member of the Inclusive Excellence team.
The Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer will continue to work with the President and other senior leaders to implement recommendations from the DEIB consultant.
