Katie KroeperDr. Katie Kroeper, Assistant Professor of Psychology at CAS, specializes in identifying and mitigating social inequities between advantaged and disadvantaged groups. Her research focuses on situational cues—such as norms and policies—that trigger identity-related concerns, and she leverages these insights to create more inclusive environments. She holds a doctorate in social psychology from Indiana University, Bloomington, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at The Ohio State University. Her equity work has been published in prestigious journals like the Journal of Social and Personality Psychology (JPSP), Science, and The Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS). She has garnered grant support from the National Science Foundation and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Dr. Kroeper is a proud member of the Engendering Success in STEM Consortium and the College Transition Collaborative, organizations aimed at reducing educational disparities in higher education. As an Inclusive Excellence Fellow at SHU, she looks forward to working collaboratively with SHU students, faculty, and staff to help our community grow more inclusive and equitable.
