Callie Tabor
Callie Tabor is a Lecturer in the Department of Catholic Studies in the College of Arts and Sciences. Her commitment to inclusive excellence is deeply informed by both the Catholic Intellectual Tradition’s claim that all human beings have equal dignity and the liberal arts tradition of critical thinking and creative action to form more inclusive communities. She received a doctorate in Theological Studies from Emory University. Prior to joining the faculty at SHU, she worked as the Associate Director of the Aquinas Center of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. In that role, she developed the programmatic vision for the Center, grounded in a commitment to provide educational resources that reflected the questions and concerns of the diverse Catholic community in the Atlanta area. Her research and teaching focuses on beauty both as a tool that has been used to uphold harmful societal hierarchies and as a resource for artistic expression that can honor the beauty of all people. She looks forward to working with the other IE fellows and the broader SHU community to continue making SHU a more inclusive and welcoming community.
