Honors Presentation

Honors students are required to present at Sacred Heart's Academic Festival at the end of the spring semester at least once before they graduate. Students may present any work they have done that warrants display. Usually students present their major’s capstone project. The presentation can be done as a poster or a talk.

Maintenance of a Minimum Cumulative GPA

Honors students are expected to maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.400 and not receive a grade of "F" in any course (honors or non-honors) in order to remain active in the Honors Program. If a student falls below a 3.400 they will be placed on honors probation for one semester where they have a chance to increase their GPA. If a student’s GPA falls below a 2.800 they will be dismissed from the program without a probationary semester.

Honors Residential Life

With the exception of commuters, all incoming freshmen are required to share living quarters with other Honors freshmen. The honors program houses students in the best dorms on campus. This year, honors students live in Toussaint Hall, Bergoglio Hall and Mother Teresa Hall. All dorms boast newly-renovated study and lounge spaces, state-of-the-art media equipment for use in co-curricular and social activities, better facilities and rooms and a quieter environment than those found in other freshmen dorms. Living in these dorms is a distinctive privilege reserved for only the very best freshmen at Sacred Heart!

As sophomores and above, Honors students can remain together or integrate with anyone at SHU.
