Partnership Support
Community partners are community-based organizations, government agencies, educational institutions/schools and non-profit organizations. They enter into the service learning network through many different pathways, including, but not limited to: hosting volunteers and/or work study students, participating in our annual Volunteer Fair, having an existing relationship with a faculty member, being referred to our program from another campus partner and word of mouth. We have almost 50 partners that we interact with on a regular basis and many more who are interested in connecting through specific project-based work.
GivePulse Overview
GivePulse is Sacred Heart University’s civic engagement platform for matching, tracking and assessing community engagement of our students, faculty and staff. This brings great value and benefit to SHU’s relationship with the local and global community! SHU students and faculty, as well as our community partners, have access to free, personalized accounts, where they can promote service opportunities, search and sign up for volunteer events and track their engagement during their time on campus.
Faculty
As a faculty member for a service learning course, GivePulse provides a platform where you can complete all of the admin duties. From here you can edit class info, see user information, create events and verify impacts. It is a one stop shop to manage, search and report contact info, interactions and engagement of your user records.
Students
GivePulse is a community of volunteers, professionals, civic leaders and service learning students. GivePulse enables you to capture your impact in the community.
