University’s RN-to-BSN Program Ranks Best in Northeast
Nursing Process assessed nearly 150 programs across region to determine ranking
Sacred Heart University’s RN-to-BSN program has earned the highest rank from Nursing Process for the Northeast Region, defined as Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont.
Nursing Process is an organization that provides information about nursing education and careers in the U.S. More than 100,000 students consult its website monthly.
Sacred Heart’s rank results from an assessment of 147 similar programs across the region. Nursing Process examined academic quality, which encompasses acceptance, enrollment, graduation and retention rate. It also considered nursing schools’ reputation and affordability.
Completing the BSN degree is a promising career move for registered nurses, as it boosts future salaries and increases their ability to secure advantageous employment opportunities. Additionally, many hospitals and health centers now require BSN degrees for even entry-level nursing positions.
Sacred Heart’s RN-to-BSN program offers six start dates and accepts the transfer of up to 90 credits from students’ previous associate’s degree programs. This online bachelor’s program is part-time and asynchronous, making it convenient for nursing students who need flexibility in their class schedule in order to meet the demands of work and family.
“What sets apart Sacred Heart’s RN-to-BSN program is its distinctive core curriculum,” said Mary Alice Donius, dean of the Dr. Susan L. Davis, R.N., & Richard J. Henley College of Nursing. “We instill within our students the importance of integrating compassion and caring with clinical and professional knowledge to address the needs of patients, families, communities and health-care institutions.”
The RN-to-BSN program holds accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. The University itself is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education.
