Alum shares how SHU prepared him to transform numbers into insights and launch two companies along the way

Sainadh Karnati’s introduction to the world of business and numbers came during his undergraduate years at Osmania University in his hometown of Hyderabad, India. He quickly took to that world, earning a bachelor’s degree in commerce and, later, earning an MBA focused on marketing and analytics.

“I was fascinated by the idea of turning raw numbers into meaningful insights,” Karnati said. “During my early work in marketing and digital operations, I often found myself diving deep into data to explain what was working and what wasn’t.

“That curiosity turned into a passion for solving real business problems using data,” he added. “Business analytics sits at the intersection of strategy, technology and decision-making—and that blend is what drew me in.”

After a few years of professional experience, Karnati realized he wanted to expand his technical knowledge and global experience. That’s how he found Sacred Heart University, enrolling in its business analytics master's program, from which he graduated in December 2024.

Now based in Iselin, New Jersey, Karnati has launched two companies since graduating. DataAnalyzer Pro is an AI-powered analytics platform and The We Dev is a custom web development and branding support service. He is also a business data analyst at ADNI Infotech.

Karnati talks about his decision to attend Sacred Heart and the preparation he received to embark on a career in business analytics.

Why did you decide to come to Sacred Heart?

I wanted a program that combined rigorous technical training with practical, hands-on experience. SHU’s curriculum delivered exactly that. From day one, I was working with real datasets, writing Python scripts to clean and analyze data, building SQL queries for live projects and creating interactive visual dashboards to share with decision-makers. Learning from professors who work in the industry meant our assignments were relevant and immediately helpful.

In today’s job market, why is understanding how to collect, analyze and interpret data so imperative to business success?

Decisions today are data driven. Whether it’s improving customer experience, optimizing operations or predicting future trends, data is at the center of it all. But data only becomes powerful when you know how to interpret it. That’s why skills like data collection, analysis and storytelling are critical in today’s business world. Companies that can make sense of their data gain a serious edge in speed, accuracy and strategy.

How did SHU’s career resources help you to succeed?

SHU’s career support was amazing. They helped me tailor my resume, improve my LinkedIn profile and practice for interviews, all of which led to an internship at XtracIT and one at ADNI Infotech. I worked on real-world projects, from fraud detection pipelines to dashboard automation, which directly helped me land a full-time role.

What inspired you to launch your own companies?

I launched DataAnalyzer Pro in May 2025. While working on projects at SHU and during my internships, I noticed many small to mid-sized businesses needed help accessing their data. DataAnalyzer Pro solves that. Users can do analysis, conduct reports and receive AI-generated insights—no technical background is required. My multicultural upbringing taught me to design solutions for a global audience, ensuring DataAnalyzer Pro supports multilingual dashboards and region-specific data formats. The We Dev was inspired by a challenge I saw in the startup ecosystem. Many entrepreneurs need web development and brand support but don’t have access to reliable or affordable options. The We Dev gives small business owners and professionals tools to build a strong online presence.

Both ventures are inspired by a shared goal: using technology to simplify work for people who may not have the time, skills or resources to do it themselves.

Who could benefit from pursuing a master’s degree in business analytics?

Anyone who wants to be involved in decision-making today. Whether you have a business or technical background, SHU’s postgraduate programs in business analytics give you the right mix of tools and practical experience.

As an international student, I found the business analytics master’s program to be incredibly welcoming and well-rounded. It strengthened my technical skills and taught me how to communicate insights to business stakeholders—which is just as important as running analysis.

Any other advice?

To future SHU students, I’d advise using every opportunity the program gives you. Every assignment, case study or internship can lead to something bigger. For me, classroom discussions and project work eventually evolved into DataAnalyzer Pro. While helping others on small website projects, the seed for The We Dev was planted.

Don’t be afraid to take the initiative. SHU’s faculty and career team were incredibly supportive—they guided me, encouraged my ideas and helped me refine my goals. Sacred Heart truly gave me the platform to grow, not just as a student, but as an entrepreneur and problem-solver.
