Blessing of the Hands Ceremony
Teaching Spiritual Care
The Blessings of the Hands, a spiritual ceremony held at the University’s Chapel of the Holy Spirit each fall, highlights the importance of nurses’ therapeutic, healing touch and the caring conveyed in nurses’ hands. Baccalaureate and FNP/DNP students participate in the ceremony, held since 2012, which also helps students increase understanding of their own spiritual needs as well as those of their patients.
