Admission Requirements
- MSW degree from a CSWE-accredited institution
- 3.2 GPA or higher is preferred
- Minimum two years post-master’s work experience required
Required Admission Documents
- Online application
- Nonrefundable application fee
- Official transcripts from all previously attended institutions (undergraduate and graduate)
- Resume
- Statement of Research Interests & Professional Goals
- Three letters of recommendation, two of which should be from academics or persons who can evaluate your capacity to perform independent scholarly study work. Letters of recommendation should be submitted on the required form only (linked above). If references wish to provide a supplemental personal letter, letters can be forwarded directly to gradstudies@sacredheart.edu.
- Writing Sample (optional). The following are examples of appropriate submissions of scholarly writing:
- published article, chapter, book
- master's thesis
- unpublished research report, conference presentation
- term paper written in a graduate course
- training manual
- grant application
- legislative testimony
Once all of the above items are received, qualified candidates will be invited to interview. Interviews are by invitation only.
