Competitive Admission & Waitlist Information
Due to a limited number of approved clinical sites and placements available for students, the program cannot admit every eligible candidate who applies. As a result, applicants are selected through a competitive admission process, receiving points per the rubric. The minimum number of points for admission consideration is seven. The maximum possible points are 35. Students are notified of admission decisions via their online applicant portal.
Once the top-ranking applicants are admitted to the seats available, the next group is placed on a waitlist. If any of the admitted students decline their seat, the seat is offered to the next person on the waitlist. The waitlist does not carry over from year to year. If not admitted, students must reapply during the next application window.
Additional Steps
To be considered for financial aid, explore financial assistance with the resources of SHU’s Student Financial Assistance.
Note that all students admitted to an associate degree program must fulfill course requirements for their degree at Sacred Heart per University policy.
Admitted students must complete a health clearance, as well as pass a criminal background check and drug screen, in order to register for classes. Instructions on completing this clearance are provided upon receipt of the non-refundable enrollment deposit.
