Provide a minimum of 30-32 hours of physical therapy services in affiliated clinics as assigned.
Assist in entry-level physical therapy program instruction 6 hours/week or as assigned in the role of laboratory instructor, tutorial leader, and/or clinical instructor in the Doctoral Program in Physical Therapy.
Participate in Advanced Orthopaedic Physical Therapy course work offered by the Doctoral Program in Physical Therapy: 3 credits/semester for each of the Fall, Spring and Summer semesters.
Participate in weekly Clinical Mentorship.
Participate in Case Conference and Journal Club discussions.
Participate in clinical scholarship activities of the Residency Program as determined by the Residency Program Director.
Attend regular Residency Program meetings and department activities as requested.
Other related activities as assigned.
Complete probationary period of 3 months.
Salary & Benefits
Competitive salary for 12 month period, September 1 through August 31, as arranged through the clinical affiliate.
Free attendance at SHU-sponsored Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Continuing Education, with opportunity for preparation and instruction as arranged.
Reimbursement for APTA Clinical Instructor Training upon successful completion of the course.

Graduate student status/privileges at Sacred Heart University.
Residents encouraged to obtain individual professional liability insurance with additional consulting/education coverage with partial reimbursement from the Residency Program.
Typical Weekly Schedule
24-30 hours of clinical practice.
6 hours of classroom teaching in the SHU DPT program.
3 hours of clinical mentorship.
3 hours of advanced orthopaedic coursework via online format and supplemented by weekend lab intensives throughout the semester.
1 hour of Journal Club or Case Conference discussion.
