- A Praxis Core Academic Skills score report (test number 5752): Effective July 1, 2016 a passing score on the Praxis Core Academic Skills exam is no longer required for admission to teacher education programs. However, Sacred Heart requires that applicants take the exam or equivalent waiver exam. Visit the PRAXIS Core Academic Skills exam site for information.

We highly recommend that you notify your professional contact in advance of submitting their name, professional organization and contact information.
A minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 2.80 or higher is required, with a GPA of 3.0 (B) or higher preferred. The Farrington College of Education & Human Development ensures that the average GPA of accepted candidates meets or exceeds 3.0 for all cohorts in all programs. If a program’s average GPA falls below 3.0, applicants with GPAs below 2.80 are referred to the FCEHD Academic Council and considered provisionally, which may result in either additional requirements to be completed prior to admission or denial of the request. Applicants may contact Whitney Kolwicz at 203-365-4716 or kolwiczw@sacredheart.edu for details.
