SHU Media Exchange
The SHU Media Exchange is an annual public event that welcomes industry professionals to discuss a variety of important issues in the media. As a part of the curriculum, the program is produced by our students and is live streamed to our audience.

Easton Courier
The Easton Courier is a university/community initiative to fill a void in the era of the continued elimination of local news, journalism, & information. Faculty & students work together with community members to produce an online newspaper for Easton, CT. In 2021, the Courier won sixteen Excellence in Journalism awards from the Society of Professional Journalists.

Community Collaborations
SCMA periodically collaborates with local organizations to create content that is beneficial to the community.
Exhibitions
Students will have an opportunity to become involved in exhibitions produced by Vision Project. These exhibitions focus on international & national social issues. The exhibitions are shown in the Art & Design Gallery at Sacred Heart and other venues throughout the United States.
Gubernatorial Debates 2018
Produced and live streamed across Connecticut by the faculty and students of Journalism and Media Production in partnership with WSHU Public Radio and the Hearst Connecticut Media Group.
WSHU Public Radio Graduate Assistant Positions
WSHU Public Radio is dedicated to expanding local news coverage in cooperation with the School of Communication, Media and the Arts by providing Graduate Assistant positions to students in the Journalism and Media Production program. Students are trained to become the next generation on air reporters for public radio.
Pulse Plus
Pulse Plus are feature stories produced by Journalism students. Students range from individuals that just completed their undergraduate degrees, to adults returning to school to enhance and expand their technical skills. Stories cover a wide range of topics that extend beyond the immediate Sacred Heart University campus and community.
