  • For certain engineering majors at Columbia, required pre-engineering courses may differ slightly and affect student flexibility [e.g. CE majors could skip the PY 211 course & omit 2 CH/PY labs, taking CS 113 & a JAVA CS elective in their place; EE majors could skip 2 labs and consider an extra CS elective as well]
  • Biomedical engineering majors would need an additional semester of Chemistry+lab and a full year of Biology+lab, necessitating either significant AP transfer credit or heavy summer course work
