Notes

  • Core classes listed in italics are sample options; the order of these could be interchanged.
  • MA 261: Linear Algebra is not required for RPI but is required for other engineering programs (including Biomedical Engineering track at RPI). Student may choose to replace MA 261 with a 2ndTLA course, reducing the need for AP transfer credits or summer course work.
  • Chemistry department will consider waiving the CH 395 Research Project in place of an Introduction to Engineering Analysis course (to be developed) or other applied chemistry elective relevant to the student’s future major (e.g. Materials Science for Engineers, to be developed).
  • Chemistry Major courses that will count toward RPI degree:
    • CH 332/334 Physical Chemistry II == CHEM-4420 Microscopic Physical Chemistry
    • CH 351/353 Instrumental Analysis == CHEM-4530 Modern Techniques in Chemistry
    • CH 355 Advanced Inorganic Chemistry == CHEM 6020 Advanced Inorganic Chemistry ITo be applied to RPI degree as the CHEM elective
  •  Credits remaining to complete Chemical & Biological Engineering degree upon arrival at RPI: 55
