Admission Requirements

Applicants must hold at least a master’s degree and experience, either formal or informal, in an educational leadership role. Roles may include, but are not limited to, superintendent of schools, principal, district curriculum leader, teacher leader, special education director, curriculum coordinator and instructional coach.
- Online graduate application
Applications being accepted for spring 2027 - Official transcript(s) from all colleges and universities previously attended.
- A master’s degree with a GPA of 3.0 or higher is required.
- Copy of current educator license
- Resume
- Two letters of recommendation including one from a current supervisor. The letters should attest to the candidate's academic capability to succeed in doctoral level coursework.
- A 2-3 page personal statement discussing your interest in the Ed.D. as well as your background and/or interest in social, emotional and academic leading.
Most application materials can be uploaded to your applicant portal. Transcripts can be submitted directly from your previous institutions via official electronic delivery system (preferred method) to gradstudies@sacredheart.edu. Alternatively, they can be mailed to:
